Tremendous Power ► Dominate ► Precious ► Without Faith My Prayer Won’t Work ► I’ll Pray for You
Empower the believer with revelation concerning prayer and its power to impact life circumstances in order to stay constantly connected to God
Prayer – The Supernatural activity of communing with God, whereby I share my intimate thoughts and feelings and God shares His intimate thoughts and feelings and gives instructions to me.

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. —1 Timothy 2:1 (NLT)

I Am Doubly Blessed When Praying for Others

1. The blessing

God desires that every Christian mature to fruitfulness. Jesus progresses through 3 symbolic growth stages in prayer.

  • The : My preference is my own personal benefit - Jesus first prayed for himself

“After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you…Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.” —John 17:1,5 (NLT)

  • The : My heart expands to welcome and fit others - Jesus’ focus shifts to His disciples

“now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are…I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.” —John 17:11,15 (NLT)

  • The : My life perspective elevates to His will - Jesus has a singular alignment of will

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” —John 17:20-21 (NLT)

2. The blessing

When I discard the lie that I must pray for myself, I experience the benefit of praying for others returning a blessing on me…

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. —Galatians 6:7 (TPT)

So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, and so he said to him, “Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies, I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again. I will also give you what you have not asked for: all your life you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king. —1 Kings 3:9-13 (GNT)

…Even when the other people have hurt me

When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! —Job 42:10 (NLT)
