Lace Up! - HUNGRY
Matthew 5:6
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Righteousness = God’s Right Way of Doing Things.
Righteousness is the alignment of earth with Heaven.
- The reality of God’s will being done here as it is there.
When we hunger for righteousness, we are craving the fullness of God’s plan, the overflow of His presence, and the manifestation of His power.
HUNGER = an undeniable, insatiable need to be filled!
Without HUNGER you will eventually become
- You will pray, but without passion.
- You will serve, but without faith.
- You will show up, but with no fire.
Jesus wants us to
MIRACLES | PROPHESY | DREAMS | VISIONS | MANIFESTATIONS | ANGELS
JESUS’ PROMISE = an irreversable law…
If you hunger and thirst - for miracles, signs and wonders… YOU WILL BE FILLED!
Our prayer needs to become:
“GOD: MAKE ME THE HUNGRIEST PERSON IN THE ROOM!”
Matthew 16:5 - 7
5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
How many of us lose sight of what God is doing because we get CAUGHT UP IN THE WRONG HUNGER???
- Hungry for security instead of faith
- Hungry for control instead of obedience
- Hungry for comfort instead of calling
- Hungry for ATTENTION not ADVANCEMENT
Matthew 16:8 - 10
8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Jesus did not perform miracles for spectators.
He performed miracles in places filled with HUNGER!
HUNGER IS A PREREQUISITE TO OPERATING IN THE

13 You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.
WHAT HUNGER IS NOT…
- Feeling shamed into doing something.
- Feeling obligated to do something.
- Feeling guilted…
Hunger is the gnawing ache inside of you.
Hunger is the deep desire to encounter God.
Hunger is the craving to be filled with more of the Holy Spirit.
Hunger is an unquenchable fire that refuses to be satisfied with last weeks “good service” etc.

When you are truly hungry for righteousness, everything changes:
- Problems do not intimidate you — they excite you because you are ready to see God move.
- Worship is not a duty — it is a delight because you are eager to encounter Him.
- Prayer is not a task — it is a necessity because you need to hear His voice.

Vision in Hebrew = prophetic vision. (Chazown)
“Cast off Restraint” in Hebrew = losing HUNGER for God’s way!
When we do not have a vision for what GOD WANTS TO DO IN OUR LIFE, WE WILL SETTLE FOR CHEAP KNOCK OFFS…
When hunger fades:
- Holiness becomes optional
- Worship becomes routine
- Faith becomes passive
Psalm 63:1 - 2
1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

2. YOU HAVE TO
Luke 11:9 - 10
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
ASK - asking is a starting point.
It is where you step out and acknowledge that you are hungry for more of God.
Just ASKING is not enough.
SEEK - is where you take every opportunity God gives you.
It is doing everything with intention!
KNOCK - Krouo - to strike, to beat, to pound on a door.
It is not about demanding something from God — it is about refusing to settle for less than everything He has for you!
ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR
Ephesians 5:15 - 16 NIV
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,
16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
YOU WERE NOT CREATED TO GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS!
YOU WERE CREATED TO HAVE MIRACLES GO THROUGH YOU!
EVERY BREATH / EVERY MOMENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE FOR GOD AND EXPERIENCE HIS POWER IN REAL, TANGIBLE WAYS!

There is something powerful about being in the presence of people who are HUGNRY for more of God.

SPIRITUAL HUNGER IS CONTAGIOUS!
IT WAKES UP SOMETHING INSIDE OF US!
1 Corinthians 14:26
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
Hungry people always bring something to the table.
- we are hungry not to sing a song
BUT TO SING MELODIES TO THE LORD TOGETHER! - we are not hungry to instruct
BUT TO HAVE THE WORD SPOKEN AND INSTRUCT OUR LIVES! - we are not hungry for another prophetic sounding things
BUT REVELATION FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT TO SPEAK THROUGH US!
There is an exchange that happens in the Spirit, and it is in that exchange that we all GROW!
1 Corinthians 15:33 NLT
33 Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.
This is a WARNING - be careful who you surround yourself with - because while it is true that spiritual hunger is contagious… so is complacency.
TO BE HUNGRY FOR GOD IS A DECISION THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!
1. It starts with SEEING it - seeing the vision of what is possible when you tap into the fullness of what God wants to do.

2. YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT ALL!
Every opportunity to pray, to worship, to step out and operate in the supernatural.
THE MORE YOU EAT, THE HUNGRIER YOU WILL BECOME!
3. YOU HAVE TO BE AROUND HUNGRY PEOPLE!
If you want to stay hungry, surround yourself with other people desperate for God!
WHAT IS YOUR HUNGER LEVEL TODAY?
