Children of God are

by the Holy Spirit

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. —Romans 8:14-16 (NLT)

The Holy Spirit

Us into All Truth

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. —John 14:16-17 NLT

But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. —John 16:7 NLT

And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. —Acts 2:4. NLT

“So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!” Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. —Acts 2:36-38 NLT

Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all. —Act 2:41 NLT

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper, and to prayer. —Acts 2:42 NLT

“He (Jesus) is asking you to make a transition in your faith from an external voice to an internal voice; from asking someone outside to asking the Spirit who is inside; from asking for advice to listening for an impulse; from being taught to being led; from obedience to discernment; from ask to listen.” —Soul Shift (Deneff and Drury)
