GROUP STUDY

Today’s Focus: God is a storyteller. He writes and tells stories in and through the lives of his people.

Getting Started

Do you have a favorite Bible story? Explain why it’s a favorite and what it teaches you.

Share God Sightings

  1. Were you able to see the hand of God in your life this past week? Explain.
  2. Assuming you were able to see God’s hand upon you, what did you discover or re-discover about God as a result?

Discussion Thread

God desires to write and tell a story through your life. He does this to reveal who He is and to accomplish his purposes. As parents, we partner with God in shaping the story He wants to tell through the lives of our children.

  1. What did you receive from the story that was shared in the service?
  2. How clearly are you able to see that God is writing a story through your life?
  3. What does your “wiring” (your design) as a person reveal about who God is? (Psalm 139:13-15)
  4. What are some of the primary ways that God’s way of life shapes the way you live your life? (Psalm 16:11)
  5. Describe what you believe the calling is that God has given you (purposes that He is seeking to accomplish through you).
  6. What is God saying to you about your story and calling? What can you do to apply those instructions?

Prayer

1- How can we pray for you in response to this teaching?
2- How can we pray for you this week?

Reading Invitation
1- Read Philippians Chapter 3, where the Apostle Paul shares his story. What do you discover about God through Paul’s story? Based upon what you read there, what was God’s calling for Paul?
2- Read Proverbs Chapters 16 through 22. Look specifically for principles related to God’s way of life. Identify at least 5 principles that you most need to embrace.
