Isaiah 57:1-21

57:1-10 | The prophet laments that the godly seem to be disappearing within a corrupt society obsessed with idols. Spiritual adultery was rampant.

57:15-21 | God is the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity. His dwelling place is in heaven, far beyond the happenings of earth, and yet He wants to live forever with those who have a contrite and humble spirit. The preposition with indicates the intimate nature of their fellowship. The wicked, however, cannot rest in His presence and have no home with Him.
