Psalm 119:15-16
1.) Trusting God requires trust in God.
Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
2.) Trusting God involves more than being a “fair weather friend.”
Psalm 46: 1-3 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the [b]midst of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling.
3.) Trusting God includes the times that we do not understand.
Psalm 23 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
4.) God supplies our needs
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22
5.) God’s blessings aren’t necessarily measured monetarily.
Psalm 84: 1-3 How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young– Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, My King and my God.
“Seek the presence of God over the presents of God.”
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
6.) God knows you.
Psalm 139
