Big Question: What does it take to be made right with God?

John 14:5 - Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” ⁶ Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

CONSIDER JESUS THIS EASTER

1. CONSIDER THE MINISTRY OF JESUS.

• Consider who He came for and how He treated them.

Mark 2:16-17 - When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the “sinners” and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?” ¹⁷ On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

• Jesus actually came for those that religion REJECTED

• YOU might be a miracle because of the ministry of Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

2. CONSIDER THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS.

Luke 23:34 - “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

John 19:30 - When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Matthew 27:54 - When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

John 2:19 - Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

Acts 3:15 - “You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.”

John 20:27-28 - Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” 28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

3. CONSIDER THE GRACE OF JESUS.

Romans 3:22 - This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

• There’s a difference between religion and relationship. Don’t miss it, Jesus did not come to start a religion. Jesus came to offer us eternal life.

• Relationship tells you Jesus already did it ALL for you.

Romans 3:22 - We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. NLT

John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; ²⁶ and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

• So, what does it mean to BELIEVE in Jesus?

James 2:19 - You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that — and shudder.

Believe means: Pisteuo, to believe, to trust in, to cling to, to rely on, to adhere to, or to commit to.
