Seeing Faith: Part 1
Hebrews 11:1-7
Hebrews 11
-Faith
-Faith
Are you a researcher/critical thinker, or more a go-with-the-flow type of person? Tell a time when that has either benefitted you or been a hindrance to you.
Think of someone in your life who has encouraged you to endure in the faith by their life. Tell their story to the group and share how it helped you.
In what ways is the Christian faith “blind”? In what ways is it not?
Read Hebrews 11:1-7. How would this passage help you explain to a non-believer what Christians mean by “having faith”?
“Every person’s life is built on faith.” Do you think that’s true? Why might a secular person disagree with that statement? How would you respond?
Read Romans 1:18-32. Why is creation an apologetic for the existence of God? How does the rejection of this lead to all other sins, as explained in the Romans passage?
Why would the writer of Hebrews not begin with Adam & Eve, but jump to Cain & Abel? What do we learn about faith from those who are brought into this first part of Hebrews 11?
Look again at Hebrews 11:6. How could you use this verse to encourage a fellow believer? How could you use this to exhort a fellow believer?
Honest Reflection: do you need to increase your knowledge of the faith, to increase your faith? Or do you need to increase your trust in what you know to be true? How can you take a step this week grow in your faith?
