Jesus First - Super Sunday - Identity in Christ Alone

Feb 11, 2024

Those who are

in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God. —Psalm 92:13

  • Psalm 24 is for 2024.

This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah —Psalm 24:6

  • As believers, our is in Jesus! Remember who you are in Christ!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. —2 Corinthians 5:17

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. —Colossians 3:17, 23

They prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. —Ezra 6:14

  • Haggai - festive! Joyful, keeping the feasts.

  • Zechariah - the Lord

. The Holy Spirit bringing words to remembrance.

Identity: Remember Who You Are

1. The Holy Spirit brings to the things that Jesus has spoken to us.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. —John 14:26

a) The Holy Spirit brings the words of Jesus and the promises of God to remembrance.

b) The Holy Spirit brings personal promises and

words to remembrance that are specific to you, your family, a specific congregation.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. —1 Timothy 1:18

2. We are up by way of remembrance.

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. —2 Timothy 1:6

For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. 13 Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, —2 Peter 1:12
To encourage is to remind each other God’s purposes and promises.

3. We take the Lord’s IN REMEMBRANCE of Jesus. We remember what Jesus has done for us!

  • In Revelation 2:5 Jesus even told the church of Ephesus, remember the heights from which you are fallen, and return to your first love.

  • It’s time to be healed of Spiritual Amnesia!

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. —James 1:22-24

  • What is this natural face = the face of his

. What birth? The new birth! The new creation.

  • Forgetting means to misplace, and remembering means to put something back in its proper place. This applies to the Lord, and it applies to what He says about you.

A Search Was Made

But as it is written:

> “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
> Nor have entered into the heart of man

The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. —1 Corinthians 2:9-10
