Colossians 3:17
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Psalms 103:1-5
1 Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy
name. 2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and
compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
1. Gratitude guards against
1 Peter 5:5
5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders.
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
2. Gratitude guards against
Philippians 4:11-13
11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with
whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with
everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it
is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do
everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Titus 3:3-5
3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by
all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being
hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our
Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had
done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of
rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
3. Gratitude guards against
Ephesians 4:32
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as
in Christ God forgave you.
Mark 12:30-31
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Gratitude begins with God and ends with others.
Galatians 5:16
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the
flesh.
