Week 6: Daniel Chapter 6

Feb 13-19

Overview: From childhood, “Daniel in the Lion’s Den” is one of our more well-known stories of the Bible. The Lord miraculously delivers Daniel from lions who later crush the bones of others thrown to them. As a result, King Darius writes “to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth” a proclamation issuing a decree that all those in his kingdom “must fear and revere the God of Daniel.” He then lists reasons for this, saying the following: “The God of Daniel is living. He endures forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed. His dominion will never end. He rescues. He saves. He performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth. He rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.” This last reason was a very specific and tangible piece of evidence for “the God of Daniel” to be honored, and so, in those days, He was. Let us continue to honor the Living God as we strive to live as Daniel faithfully lived.

Keeping in mind what God was trying to teach you this week, what is a SAM application you can make?

S – Specific – What exactly do you want to do?

A – Attainable – Can you accomplish this application in the time frame given?

M – Measurable – Is this something you can track and quantify its progress?

Who can you share with this week what God taught you? What could encourage a believer? What could encourage a nonbeliever?
