  1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?


2. When David’s men came back shamed and humiliated, David did not immediately retaliate against the Ammonites. How should we respond when other reject our kindness? How can we respond when the enemy tries to shame and humiliate us?


3. Hanun’s advisors were conspiracists - they saw evil intent in David where there was none, and they misled their king. Why should we be wary of conspiracists? How should we respond when we perceive such thinking (and actions) around us?


4. Read verse 11. Describe an application of this verse in your life, and explain why the take-away from this verse is so vital in our lives as Jesus-followers.


5. The kindness of David toward Hanun can be a picture of the kindness of Jesus toward us. In what ways do we/others resist the kindness of God? What do we learn from this chapter about those who reject His kindness?
