WHO IS JESUS?
I AM the Bread of Life.
I AM the Light of the World.
I AM the Door for the Sheep.
I AM the Good Shepherd.
I AM the Resurrection and the Life.
I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
I AM the True Vine.
I AM.
JESUS. IS. GOD.
Progressive Revelation:
God revealed himself to his people over many centuries, gradually providing new information that built on, but did not contradict, what came before.
Progressive Revelation is a movement from
Exodus 3:13-14

This is a stand-alone description, the ultimate statement of self-sufficiency, self-
existence, not contingent upon anyone or anything else.

John 6: Jesus Walks on Water
John 16:16-21
When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened.
…and He says to them,
“I AM (EGO EIMI);
do not be afraid.”
Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
John 8: Jesus Debates With Crowd
John 8:31-32
Jesus:
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the
truth will set you free.”
John 8:33,39
Crowd:
“We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that
we shall be set free?”
“Abraham is our father.”
John 8:39-40,51
Jesus:
“If you were Abraham’s children, then you would do what Abraham did. As it is, you are lookingfor a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not
do such things.”
“Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.”
John 8:52-53
Crowd:
At this they exclaimed, “Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did
the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never taste death. Are you
than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?”
John 8:56-59
Jesus:
”Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
Crowd:
“You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”
Jesus:
“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I AM!” (EGO EIMI)
Crowd:
At this, they picked up stones to stone him…
THIS WAS A FRESH REVELATION OF JESUS!
John 18: Jesus Is Betrayed
John 18:1-8
Jesus went out with His disciples… where there was a garden into which He and His disciples entered.
And Judas, who was betraying Him, also knew of the place because Jesus had often gathered there with His disciples.
Then Judas, after receiving a band and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with torches and lamps and weapons.
Jesus, therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forward and said to them, "
They answered Him, "Jesus the Nazarean."
Jesus said to them, "I AM." (EGO EIMI)
But when He said to them, "I AM," (EGO EIMI) they…
Then He asked them again, "Who are you seeking?" And they said, "Jesus the Nazarean."
Jesus answered, "I told you that I AM.” (EGO EIMI)
EGO EIMI = PRESENT TENSE
JESUS is the Great I AM.
JESUS gave a FRESH REVELATION that HE. IS. GOD.
