May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. NIV

Watching in the waiting

“Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” Vice-Admiral Robert FitzRoy who captained the HMS Beagle in 1880

Luke 19:28
28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’” NIV

Luke 19:35
35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. NIV

Mark 11:8
8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. NIV

John 12:13
They took palm branches and went out to meet Him. NIV

The world’s BEST:

Terrifying

God’s BEST:

Bold
Empowered
Surrender
Trust

Do the BEST, God does the rest.

1. Disconnected

Luke 19:37
37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” 40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” 40 “I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” NIV

Distracted > Disconnected > Disbelief

The appointed door has an appointed time.

2. Discerned

Luke 19:37
37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: 38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

John 12:13
13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Blessed is the king of Israel!” NIV

John 12:17-18
17 Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. 18 Many people, because they had heard that he had performed this sign, went out to meet him. NIV

God’s BEST:

Bold to share

Empowered by His Word

Surrender self

Trust in Jesus

Do the BEST, God does the rest.

Matthew 21:10
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” 11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” NIV

Formula:

Core > Crowd > City

It’s HOPE, not HYPE

HYPE Movement:

Fueled by man’s self-effort and might

HOPE Movement:

Fueled by Jesus’ blood on the cross
