III. WE OUR BURDENS TO GOD (vs 20-22)

A. Transfer

even in betrayal. (vs 20-21)

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” —Matthew 11:28-30

B. Transfer

an act of faith. (v 22)

IV. GOD US AFTER WE CAST OUR BURDENS (vs 22-23)

A. God

us when we release control. (v 22b)

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10

B. God stabilizes us through life’s storms. (vs 22c-23)

“When He has swallowed up death once and for all, the Lord God will wipe away the tears from every face and remove his people’s disgrace from the whole earth, for the Lord has spoken. 9On that day it will be said, “Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him. Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” —Isaiah 25:8-9

Application: Operation Reboot

Start Today:

  1. the specific burdens weighing us down right now.

  2. casting those burdens on God through specific prayer.

  3. when we try to take back burdens we’ve already given to God.

  4. that God will sustain us even when circumstances don’t immediately change.

CONCLUSION: What steps do you need to take to truly cast your burdens upon Jesus?
