10/01/2023 THE GREAT SUSTAINER - WEEK 33
October 1, 2023

THE GREAT SUSTAINER

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. —Psam 55:22

LIFE BEHIND THE VEIL

31  “You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim.
32  You shall hang it upon the four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold. Their hooks shall be gold, upon four sockets of silver.
33  And you shall hang the veil from the clasps. Then you shall bring the ark of the Testimony in there, behind the veil. The veil shall be a divider for you between the holy place and the Most Holy.
34  You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy. —Exodus 26:31 - 34

19  Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20  by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, —Hebrews 10:19 - 20

THE SUSTAINMENT OF HOPE

21  And having a High Priest over the house of God,
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. —Hebrews 10:21 - 23

1. The heartbeat of sustainment.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith… —Hebrews 10:22a

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. —Mark 12:30

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. —Proverbs 4:23

13  Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14  For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15  from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16  that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height –
19  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. —Ephesians 3:13 - 21

2. The sustainment of assured faith.

21  And having a High Priest over the house of God,
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith… —Hebrews 10:21 - 22a

16  For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.
17  Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,
18  that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. —Hebrews 6:16 - 18

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. —Hebrews 11:6

So then faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God. —Romans 10:17

1  The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2  He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3  He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. —Psalms 23:1 - 3

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. —Romans 12:2

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself —2 Timothy 2:13

3. A true heart is a soft heart; a heart of worship.

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you. —Hosea 10:12

WORSHIP DEFINED: The feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity,

To show reverence and adoration for a deity; honor with religious rites.

17  Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—
18  Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19  The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. —Habbukuk 3:17 - 19

21  This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
22  Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
24  “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
25  The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
26  It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. —Lamentations 3:21 - 26

Let us hold fast the confession of our
hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. —Hebrews 10:23

19  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
20  where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. —Hebrews 6:19 - 20

3  And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
4  and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. —Romans 5:3 - 5

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. —Acts 3:19
