
The Four Coats of Joseph

- Joseph means “the Lord will
In his life we see an incredible picture of:
- Overcoming.
- God working all things together for good.
- Increase through testing.
- PSALM 24 is for 2024. This is the song of the overcomer.
This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah —Psalm 24:6
Progression:
- Holy hunger.
- Resulting in seeking Him, coming up the Hill of the Lord.
- Leads to a greater revelation of Jesus.
- Releasing a greater grace to overcome and the anointing to breakthrough.
- Joseph’s 4 Coats picture 4 seasons. In every season, Jospeh overcame in a different area and kept rising to the top.
- God is raising up a Psalm 24:6 generation that can thrive anywhere. It’s not about where they are. It’s about
- Their declaration is “I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.
Victim or Overcomer
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. —Romans 8:37
Victim mindset - the pain and the trauma becomes your identity.
To Him who [always] loves us and who [has once for all] freed us [or washed us] from our sins by His own blood (His sacrificial death) —Revelation 1:5b AMP
1. Coat of Many colors – Coat of

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. —Genesis 37:3
1 Peter 4:10 speaks of the “manifold grace of God”. Manifold = Various colors, multi-colored, multi-faceted. Grace - divine influence on the life and it’s reflection in the life. Favor.
This coat points to your
In every test we have the opportunity to be defined by what’s happening to us externally or to deepen in who we are internally.
Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. —Psalm 105:19
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. —Isaiah 61:10
- Clothed. Wrapped around with salvation - deliverance, salvation, victory, healing, wholeness, safety, prosperity.
- Covered. Covering, protection of His righteousness, not our own.
- Decked. Specifically, this is the adorning of the head with a turban - a new mindset. I am no victim.
- Adorned. Speaks of beauty but also armor. Fully equipped and empowered.
2. Servant/Slave’s Coat.
And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.” —Genesis 39:15 -
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. —1 Corinthians 10:13

3. Prison Coat/Cloths.
Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him. —Genesis 40:23
- This test represented the test of being
Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh. —Genesis 41:14

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. —Genesis 41:42
The test of power and forgiveness.
Genesis 45:1-8
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. —Genesis 50:20
- Forgiveness marked Joseph’s life. Prevented bitterness from derailing the purpose of God in his life.
- Forgiveness is the weapon that prevents the past from influencing your future.
