Oh, the Depth of the Riches… Christ Died for the Ungodly! Romans 5:1-11

  1. ‘Christ died for the ungodly’ is something we can’t understand because we don’t even want to understand how ungodly we were.
  2. The of Christ for us is far from anything we can comprehend.
  3. Furthermore, ‘Christ died for the ungodly’ is so because it creates a new relationship that we don’t fully appreciate.
  4. Finally, ‘Christ died for the ungodly,’ is so meaningful because it enables us to in something that we understand all too well, our sufferings.

Even though this sermon focused on how beyond our understanding Christ’s death is, notice that the last point of the sermon talks about something we understand, namely, sufferings. What powerful truths do we learn about God’s love for us especially during times of suffering?

Compile your own list of how God’s love is so generous and abundant that it exceeds our limited human ability to fully understand or explain it!
