Isaiah 9:8-10
The Lord sent a word against Jacob, and it has fallen on Israel. All the people will know—Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria—who say in pride and arrogance of heart: “The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace with cedars.”
Charles Spurgeon
“The history of nations is but a record of their moral and spiritual condition; it is a history of the judgments and mercies of God.”
God is not interested in our national allegiance but our national repentance.

Isaiah 9:10
“The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace with cedars.”
To use the Word of God without the Word of God is not the Word of God.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 6:16-17
Thus says the LORD: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ 17 Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen.’
The true restoration of a nation begins not by replacing broken bricks with stones, but by replacing hearts of stone with brokenness.
