The Proof of God’s Power

Isaiah 46:1 - 48:22

I. All Will Submit to God (v. 46:1-2, 5-7)
A. Bel and Nebo were major

in the Babylonian pantheon.
B. The thinking of the time period was that if a nation defeated another nation, their

must be more powerful.
C. Yahweh is the

true God.

II. His People Must Take Note (v. 46:3-4, 8-13)
A. God has cared for us and loved us through

good times and bad.
B. Jesus’ death and

is the greatest demonstration of His love.

III. Resistance Is Futile (v. 47:1 - 48:22)
A. This long section is a

of Babylons’ destruction.
B. Despite all of its power, Babylon was

because she failed to give God credit and honor for who He is and what He had done.

We can choose to fight against God, but it will fail.
