Here is a summary of the book of Zechariah (Gotquestions.org.

Old Testament prophecies

Zechariah 12:10-13:1 (NIV) says:
10“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have

, and they will for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a son. 11On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12The land will mourn, each clan by itself, with their wives by themselves: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives, 13the clan of the house of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their wives, 14and all the rest of the clans and their wives. 1“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

Psalm 34:20 (NIV) says:
he protects all his

, not one of them will be broken.

These two passages prophesy that Jesus’ body will be pierced but that none of His bones will be broken.

New Testament fulfillments

John 19:31-37 (NIV) says:
31Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did

his legs. 34Instead, one of the soldiers Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his will be broken,” 37and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have .”

Revelation 1:7 (NIV) says:
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who

him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.

Q1 Numbers 9:12 and Exodus 12:46 also speak about the fact that no bones should be broken. Is there any relationship with the bone of Jesus that shouldn’t be broken?

Q2 When the Roman soldiers wanted to know whether Jesus had died during the crucifixion they pierced Jesus body and blood and water came out of His side. What was proved by the two separated streams? Is there any connection with the meaning of “And God separated the light from the darkness” in Genesis 1?

Q3 Give your thoughts about the accuracy of the prophecies and the fulfillments. Did Jesus really die for you?

Q4 In Revelation 1:7 is stated that he is coming “with the clouds”. Is this happening at the rapture or at the second coming? And why?

Q5 The rest of this verse says something about who will see it. The repercussions are on whom?
