Series: Romans – Grasping The Gospel
Sermon Title: Part 14 – God Really Loves Us
Scripture: Romans 5:6-11
Speaker: Pastor Mark Pospisil
Questions:
What qualities of a person make it easy for you to love that person? What qualities make it difficult to love another?
Why do you think that we have to be reminded so often of the fact that God loves us?
Read Romans 5:6. When would you say was the time that we were weak? What made the time that Christ died the right time?
As you read Romans 5:7, it becomes obvious that few of us would lay down our lives for anyone. The only ones for whom we would even consider this would be, according to this verse, “righteous” people. As you read verse 7 together with verse 8, how does this verse help you see the importance of Romans 5:8?
How do we know that God loves us? What assurance has He given us? Why do you think so many people question that? Have you ever questioned if God really loved you?
Why do you think Christ dying for us “while we were still sinners” is so significant?
In Romans 5:10-11, we find the words “reconcile” and “reconciliation” three different times. How would you explain the meaning of the word “reconcile?” How does this increase our joy in the Lord?
