Week 4 - Future
February 25th, 2024
Pastor Kyle Johnson & Ray Benesh
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. —Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
An area that often
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. —Matthew 6:34 (NLT)
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? —Matthew 6:27 (NIV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. —Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
It comes down to
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. —1 Peter 1:8-9 (NIV)
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. —John 14:1-3 (ESV)
Faith in our future
I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. —Philippians 1:20-21 (NIV)
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” —Hebrews 13:6 (ESV)
Where is your faith

2 – Read Matthew 6:33-34. How does our pursuit of God affect our anxiety for tomorrow? What does it mean for you to put Him first this week?
3 – Read John 14:1-3. How confident are you in Heaven? What thoughts come to mind when you think about it?
4 – Read Philippians 1:20-21. Does it look differently to live with the mindset “to live is Christ and to die is gain.”?
