Luke 24:36-49

Apostles’ Creed: “…I believe in the Holy Spirit.”

1. The Scriptures are

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:16
“For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” — 2 Peter 1:21

2. The Scriptures are

“Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.” — Luke 24:45
“[Paul’s] letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.” — 2 Peter 3:16

3. The Scriptures reveal

“This is what was written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations…” — Luke 24:46
“…from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus.” — 2 Timothy 3:15
“Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” — Romans 15:4

1 Timothy 4:13, “…devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.”
