Message Notes
Renew – to make or become new, fresh, or strong again.
- Spiritual renewal occurs when the church is how God intends it to be.
I) Why Have We Been in Spiritual Decline?
1) Theological Compromise (2 Timothy 4:2-4)
2) Moral Compromise
3) Leadership Compromise
4) Mission Compromise
II) What is the Answer to this Spiritual Decline?
- A Renewed Pursuit of Holiness.
1) Holiness is positional. (Ephesians 1:4, Hebrews 10:14)
2) Holiness is behavioral. (1 Peter 1:14-16, John 15:14, Hebrews 12:14)
- Holiness is the key to friendship, relational intimacy, and closeness with the Lord.
III) How Do We Pursue Holiness?
- Three key components to pursuing holiness.
1) Pursue holiness from your identity as a holy child of God.
2) Pursue holiness from the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.
3) Pursue holiness from a choice to consecrate yourself to the Lord. (Joshua 3:5)
- Consecration – to set yourself apart for a sacred purpose.
Why Should We Consecrate Ourselves?
- We are consecrating ourselves to a person.
- We are consecrating ourselves for a purpose. (2 Timothy 2:20-21, Isaiah 6:1-8)
