Title: Spiritual Warfare: The Enemy We Must Fight
Text: Ephesians 6:10-12
Date: August 14, 2022

Introduction: We are at war! Sooner or later, as Christians, we discover that our lives are a battleground, not a playground. Whether we like it or not, we are called to be a soldier and “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12). We face an enemy who is much stronger than we are, apart from the Lord. It is an invisible war, an unseen war. It is a continuing war between light and darkness, between good and evil, between heaven and hell, between Christ and the anti-Christ, between God and Satan, and between the Church and the world.

Some people reject the military side of the Christian life. We should appreciate those who want to see peace on earth. However, as long as sin exists in this world, the battle between Satan’s forces and all of us who are God’s people will continue. All of us who choose to be on the side of the Lord Jesus Christ will face severe opposition from Satan and his followers. If we refuse to fight, we will fall in the heat of the battle! The Intelligence Corps plays a vital part in warfare because it enables the officers to know and understand the enemy. Unless we know who the enemy is, where he is, and what he can do, we have a difficult time defeating him. Not only in Ephesians 6, but throughout the entire Bible, God instructs us about the enemy that we must fight. So, there is no reason for us to be caught off guard. What can we learn from God’s Word about the enemy? Let’s consider:

I. The

of the Enemy

II. The

of the Enemy

III. The

of the Enemy
