Colossians 1:15-17 (LSB)
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For in Him all things were created, [both] in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, And in Him all things hold together.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (LSB)
4 in whose case the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
John 1:1 (LSB)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Colossians 1:18-20 (LSB)
18 And He is the head of the body, the church; Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For in Him all the fullness [of God] was pleased to dwell, 20 And through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross–through Him–whether things on earth or things in heaven.
Revelation 1:17-18 (LSB)
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not fear; I am the first and the last, 18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

Colossians 1:21-23 (LSB)
21 And although you were formerly alienated and enemies in mind [and] in evil deeds, 22 but now He reconciled you in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach– 23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.
James 4:4 (LSB)
4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity [toward] God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world sets himself as an enemy of God.
God is in control of ALL.
You can’t derail God’s plans.
Nothing on earth or in heaven can derail God’s plans.
Application:
Colossians 1.18 (LSB)
“….so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything”
Does Jesus have first place in my life?
What is an area of my life that I need to place Jesus first?
Colossians 1.23 (LSB)
“…continue in the faith firmly grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel”
Do I want to be rooted in my faith?
What area am I asking the Lord to help me to grow in?**
