“I will go with you,” he replied. “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”
- 2 Kings 3:7 NIV

“I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war.”
- 2 Chronicles 18:3

In both Ahab’s and Joram’s war interest, righteous Jehoshaphat chooses honor of God and bloodline and aligns himself with rebellious dishonorable leaders, not to become wicked but to honor the Lord.

Psalms 69:27-28 MSG

27 Pile on the guilt, Don’t let them off the hook.
28 Strike their names from the list of the living; No rock-carved honor for them among the righteous.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 NLT

1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
3 This is good and pleases God our Savior,
4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

When we pray for good and not-so-good leaders, we are trusting God. The blood of Jesus saves, the Holy Spirit leads, and we stand righteous as we release them to the Lord.

2 Kings 3:9-10 NIV

9 So the king of Israel set out with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. After a roundabout march of seven days, the army had no more water for themselves or for the animals with them.
10 “What!” exclaimed the king of Israel. “Has the Lord called us three kings together only to deliver us into the hands of Moab?”

The presumptive conclusion to a bad plan that you started without the direction of God’s council is: It must be God’s plan to kill us!

2 Kings 3:13-14 NIV

13 Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Why do you want to involve me? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” “No,” the king of Israel answered, “because it was the Lord who called us three kings together to deliver us into the hands of Moab.”
14 Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you.

God’s honor, love, and provision for the righteous are blessings to the unrighteous.

2 Kings 3:15 NIV

But now bring me a harpist.” While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came on Elisha

Praise and worship will redirect the heart and mind towards God, making the supernatural natural. “While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came on Elisha.”

Psalm 8:2 KJV

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

GOD WORSHIPED

I will worship God and expect the enemies of my life to STOP!

I trust God with the cares of my life, and His peace keeps my heart and mind.

I live with a thankful heart for this is the will of God.
