John 12:3 NKJV

Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

How a person uses their wealth is an indicator of what they financially prioritize.

Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

John 12:5 NLT

“That perfume was worth a year’s wages. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor.”

John 12:6 NLT

Not that he cared for the poor—he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples’ money, he often stole some for himself.

Palm Sunday seems to be addressing greed, self-interest, and money.

Matthew 6:24 NLT

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.

Worship to God is about giving all. (Mary)

Worship to money is about keeping all. (Judas)

We are always worshiping something.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 NIV

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

Psalms 50:14-15 NLT

14 Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.
15 Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

2 Corinthians 9:7 NKJV

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

I’m ready for financial breakthrough!

Because He is with me, I break through the fear of lack, the chains of poverty, and the mentality of “not enough.”

I purpose in my heart to be a cheerful giver because He has given so much to me.
