31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” —Matthew 13:31-32 (NIV)
35 33 Some skeptic is sure to ask, “Show me how resurrection works. Give me a diagram; draw me a picture. What does this ‘resurrection body’ look like?” If you look at this question closely, you realize how absurd it is. There are no diagrams for this kind of thing. We do have a parallel experience in gardening. You plant a “dead” seed; soon there is a flourishing plant. There is no visual likeness between seed and plant. You could never guess what a tomato would look like by looking at a tomato seed. What we plant in the soil and what grows out of it don’t look anything alike. The dead body that we bury in the ground and the resurrection body that comes from it will be dramatically different. —1 Corinthians 15:35-38 (MSG)
The Creator has built into that seed what He wants it to become.
6 My job was to plant the seed, and Apollos was called to water it. Any growth comes from God, —1 Corinthians 3:6 (VOICE)
Any growth comes from
. And even if seeds are inherently dumb, they always do what the Master tells them to do.
29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. —Galatians 3:29 (NIV)
“You can do two things with pumpkin seeds. Eat them, an excellent source of protein, or plant them. and watch a successful seed bring back 100 more.” —- Seth Godin
Is our seed all for our personal consumption, or is it also about planting a portion of it?
24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. —John 12:24 (NIV)

God gives us
