Series: “Romans: The Power Of The Gospel” - Part 19
Message: “The Nuts and Bolts of Salvation”

Big idea: Salvation is a gift from God that is freely given to anyone who, through
faith, believes in Jesus and confesses Him as Lord.

Text: Romans 1:16-17, Romans 10:1-15, Matthew 5:17, Romans 3:28,
Galatians 3:24

Justification = the act of God whereby the sinner is given faith to believe, receives
forgiveness of all sin, and is assigned the righteousness of Christ

Saved = saved from hell, spared from eternal judgment and separation from God
in hell for all of eternity

2 steps for salvation
1. I must

with my mouth that Jesus is Lord.
With my mouth I confess and am saved.
2. I must in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
With my heart I believe and am justified.

The double blessing of salvation
1. I have the power of the Holy Spirit sustaining me as I

.
2. I have the promise of with Jesus forever.

Application
1. Unbeliever = trust and follow Jesus today
2. Believer = train for Gospel impact by being prepared to share the Romans
