Luke 10:38-42

38Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. 40But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” —Luke 10:38-42

Small Group Questions:

What have you seen or experienced in our world that is pulling us apart or dragging us away from the presence of God?

Have you ever experienced the holy spirit in a tangible way?

Why is it so tempting to work for our salvation?

What does it look like to live a consecrated (set apart for a purpose) life?

This week set time aside everyday to be alone and invite the Holy Spirit into your life through prayer by using the following format.
1. Submit yourself to God. God wants total dominion if your life so verbally gives it to Him.
2. Confess any sin you have that is distracting you from His presence.
3. Receive the full forgiveness of Christ.
4. Ask God to take back any areas you have given to the enemy or tried to handle yourself.
5. Now ask God to give you the gift of His presence and the holy spirit to move in your life by physically opening your hands.
