1. How did Joseph test his brothers?

1. Note one or two observations about Jacob/Israel’s blessings on his sons, the twelve of Israel.


2. Describe the emotions, entourage, and processional taken to bury Israel, Joseph’s father.


3. Joseph’s brothers were that Joseph would take revenge after their father died. Instead, Joseph . What did he say to them?


• What does Joseph’s response reveal about his heart towards his brothers and towards God?


4. How do Joseph’s unjust suffering and moments of “success” appear similar to Job’s experience?

Application

  1. Write one thing God is speaking to you about today’s Scriptures. Take some time to listen and respond.

  2. Scripture never reveals that Job knew the purpose of his sufferings and Joseph may have suffered for 15 years before he knew. Ask God to help you remain faithful like these men through your own suffering.
