What the Church Promotes

(Main Idea) Our purpose as the Church is to promote the Gospel.

I. As the Church, we promote righteousness in our

II. As the Church, we promote the

Thoughts for the Week

Any time there is a study of the Church there is going to be the
question, “What does the Church do,” or perhaps, “What is the Church
for and what is the Church against?” Very simply, the Church is about
promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have no new message and
no new secret to help people in their life. We are charged with sharing
and helping others to understand the grace and the goodness of God,
with the hopes of making earth look more like Heaven (Matt.6:10).
The local church will always have programs and ministries for you to
plug yourself into, and we will help you find ways to help in the goal
of promoting the Gospel. However, this is a reminder to us that the
church isn’t a building or a group of programs, but rather it is the
people who serve the will of God and do the work of God.
This week, think about some of the ways that you can promote the
Gospel in your own daily life. How can you promote the Gospel at
work? How can you promote the Gospel in your neighborhood? How
can you promote the Gospel with your family? Looking for these
opportunities will open our eyes to the possibilities all around us.
