The Church and The Kingdom
PART 20 - Conflict in The Kingdom
Dr. Frank Parrish/ www.world-map.com

1. CONFLICT OF THE KINGDOM

A. War in the spiritual realm and for the hearts of men.

1) Satan is

against what Christ is doing in the world.
JOHN 8:37-47; EPHESIANS 6:12

2) The kingdoms of this world are

by Satan.
LUKE 4:5

3) Satan is called the “god of this present world age.”
2 CORINTHIANS 4:4; 1 JOHN 5:19

4) Satan is a

foe.
COLOSSIANS 2:13-15; HEBREWS 2:14-15; 1 CORINTHIANS 2:6-8

“having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” COLOSSIANS 2:14

As Jesus’ hands and feet are nailed to the cross, your list of sins are nailed to the cross at the same time. And Christ pays the

for your sin.

“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it (the Cross)” COLOSSIANS 2:15

All the power that Satan had over us (humanity) in the fear of death and punishment mentioned in HEBREWS 2:14-15, was

from Satan.

“… which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would have not crucified the Lord of glory” 1 CORINTHIANS 2:6-8

JESUS CAME TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL ACTS 10:38; 1 JOHN 3:8

Jesus was announcing that there was a

of rulership taking place.

Despite Satan’s workings in this present age, God has always, is now, and always will be the

of all ages.
1TIMOTHY 1:17; REVELATION 15:3

Jesus is the “King of nations.”

5) The key to both the invasion and confrontation of Christ’s Kingdom against Satan’s kingdom in the opening of God’s present Kingdom is in what Christ did at the

.
HEBREWS 9:11-15; 10:10, 12, 19-25; MATTHEW 27:50-54

6) If Satan was defeated at the Cross, how is he able to

manipulate and control humans in this day?

The answer is found in the following scriptures -

“… whoever commits a sin is a slave to sin…” JOHN 8:34-35

“… you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness” ROMANS 6:16

“… they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage” 2 PETER 2:19

is the one behind this slavery.

As believers we can become captive of the devil’s work by

and .

WARNING/ LIE: Many pastors and leaders in ministry think that just because they are in ministry/leadership they can

in to many kinds of and that it is not going to affect them.

When YOU give place to sin, whether it is a grand thing or a small compromise, you are literally allowing that part of your life to come underneath the devil’s sway, maybe even his

.

Sin will not only affect you, it will affect your personal

.
It can even affect your .

As a spiritual leader, you act as a COVERING for your family/ church and where you are compromised, where you give into sin, you leave an opening over your family/people.

7) So what should we do?

“… he (Satan) has nothing in Me (Jesus)” JOHN 14:30

How did Satan have nothing in Christ?

JESUS DID NOT SIN HEBREWS 2:17; HEBREWS 4

“Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God – through Jesus Christ our Lord!” ROMANS 7

“… for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” 1 JOHN 3:8

“… He (the Holy Spirit) who is in you is greater than he (satan) who is in the world” 1 JOHN 4:4

By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be set

. Where we have compromised, through the of forgiveness, deliverance and healing, we can be set free!

Many leaders are ashamed of their compromise and unfortunately, many

their sin.

Sin, if it is not actively resisted and

by the power of the Holy Spirit, it will continue to in our lives.

WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN EVERYTHING WE NEED TO BE MORE THAN CONQUERORS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD

Satan can only gain control over what is

to him.

MAN CHOSE TO OBEY SATAN GENESIS 2,3

WE HAVE BEEN SET FREE
