
MINISTRY OVER MEDIOCRITY
Acts 5:12-42
Engage in ministry, not mediocrity. (12-19)
Jesus frees you for ministry.
Your ministry is as boundless as the Spirit. (19-32)
God can work through you wherever you are (or He can change ‘wherever you are!’).
God’s ministry through you will not fail! (33-42)
God’s work will be accomplished. The question is:
Will it be through you or around you?

What do you think most people think of when they hear the word “ministry?”
Have you ever been involved in a ministry before? If so, what was it?
What joys have you experienced in ministry? What problems have you experienced?

Read 2 Corinthians 5:18. Who has been given the ministry? What is the ministry that has been given?
Read Ephesians 4:11-12. Who are the ones who do the ministry? What are they to do in addition to “the work of the ministry?”
Read Acts 5:17-18. Describe your thoughts and emotions if you were one of the apostles. Now read verses 19-20 and describe your thoughts and feelings.
Look over verses 33-40. Why do you think Gamaliel proposed what he did?

Since the ministry has no boundaries, where do you believe God has placed you so that you might help bring people to Jesus?
1 Peter 4:10 says that each has received a gift in order to serve (minister) to one another. Go around the group and affirm the gift in each other that would make each a good minister.
What is one practical thing you can do this week to “do the work of your ministry?”
