” Don’t Take the Place of the Awesome Power of God. (Vs. 14-19a, Phil 2:13-14a)
Philippians 2:13-14a, “For it is God who is working in you both to will and to work according to his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling and arguing…”
Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
2. The Results of God’s Power are:
a. The Proclamation of the
Matthew 28:18-20, “Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””
b. The Valuing of
Psalm 139:13-17, “For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began. God, how precious your thoughts are to me; how vast their sum is!”
c. The Fulfillment of
2 Kings 6:16-17, “Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed, “LORD, please open his eyes and let him see.” So the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
