Taking it Further to Help You THRIVE…

1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2. A common question we might be asked this time of year is, “Why did Jesus have to die?” How would you answer that question, and where would you take that potential conversation?

3. Three times, Peter denied Jesus - denied ever following or even knowing Him. But Jesus lovingly and graciously welcomed him back ‘into the ministry’ (John 21:15-19). How might Peter have felt at this meeting with Jesus? Share a time when you made a mistake and how the Lord used that to bring encouragement to others. When has God ‘given you another chance’?

4. On Sunday we mentioned the 2 followers of Christ walking on the road to Emmaus (see Luke 24:13-15). Putting yourself in their shoes, how might you have felt after the death of Jesus? Why did Jesus not run up to them and immediately shout, “It’s Me! It’s Me!”?

5. In John 21:20-22, Peter saw John and wanted to know what was going to happen to John. Given what we read in John 21:18-19, why might Peter have asked this? What did Jesus refocus Peter here? In what ways do we focus more on others than on Christ?
