How have you been impacted by religious legalism? Do you still struggle with this?
Review the list of indicators of superficial spirituality.
You talk about having a spiritual life that you don’t really have.
The spiritual life you portray at church doesn’t match the one that your family sees at home.
You quote Bible verses but have no idea what they really mean.
You’re often critical and judgmental toward those who differ from you.
You claim to want to serve but consistently pass up opportunities to actually do it.
You’re more interested in having a good time at church than in having a serious encounter with God.
Your relationship with God rarely crosses your mind except when you’re at church.
You’re more drawn to feeling something spiritual than being something Christ-like.
You become resentful when you don’t get your way.
You find this whole discussion to be irritating rather than soul searching.
