RESIGN FROM BEING CEO OF YOUR LIFE
13 And then this, while Joshua was there near Jericho: He looked up and saw right in front of him a man standing, holding his drawn sword. Joshua stepped up to him and said, “Whose side are you on—ours or our enemies’?”
14 He said, “Neither. I’m Commander of God’s army. —Joshua 5:13-14 (TMB)
Key: Submit/Authority
Its 4:30am I am up and off to the races
Get freshen up its devotion and prayer time till about 6:30 am.
Then at 6:30am make and eat breakfast
7:00am get ready to leave
7:30 am walking to my car with my office bag and coffee in hand. That’s my daily routine Monday through Friday.
Except Today on this good Tuesday morning someone dared call my phone before 7:30am when I am in the car. After a few seconds of going back and forth in my head about whether I should answer it or not I answered…
“There had better be a house on fire”
“Hello, Sis I need you”
Apparently my sister had hurt her back and needed me to take her to the doctor. I looked at my To do list and said “Well God this is out of my control I surrender this day to you”
As soon as I said those words I heard God say “I am in charge everyday. What is needed here is your submission to my control, not your permission to let me control.”
Talk an on time word indeed.
Today’s bible verse demonstrates this truth:
“…Joshua stepped up to him and said, “Whose side are you on—ours or our enemies’?” 14 He said, “Neither. I’m Commander of God’s army.”
This portion of scripture is showing what it means to submit to God:
The commander’s identity was found in God.
There was only one side to fight on and that was God’s army.
The Commander was totally submitted to God that he spoke with authority where he stood.
In choosing God there was no need for the Commander to make a choice God had already chosen for him.
Remember this “Life becomes so easier when we let God lead”
