Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read 1 Kings 16:25-34, 21:1-14. Ahab is clearly evil, and his character is on display toward God’s law, yet through repentance, Ahab humbles himself before the Lord. Today, ask God to examine your heart, reveal where your heart is mis-aligned with God and then to bring your heart in alignment with God.
• Tuesday: Read 1 Kings 21, 2 Peter 1:3-.4 There is a stark contrast between Jezebel’s advice to Ahab and God’s resulting judgement. Faulty advice is the hallmark of a fallen world, today in prayer, seek the voice of God, where can you grow in your knowledge of the Lord.
• Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read 1 Kings 21. True repentance is.a matter of the heart more than just stopping a behavior. The two primary marks of a repentant lifestyle are mourning our areas of lack in our relationship with God and lowering ourselves before the Lord (humility). Today, lets pray for a lifestyle of repentance that constantly seeks the Lord, in earnest.
• Thursday: Read Acts 17:22-31 As you pursue Christ for a deeper relationship, study and pray through Paul’s teaching as it relates to God overlooking our times of ignorance, but now that, through Christ, we really can know God, we are to repent - come into relationship with God.
• Friday: Read Matthew 3:2-12, The total lifestyle change coming from repentance bears fruit. As you read this passage pray (personally express) your desire to bear fruit of repentance in and through your own life.
• Saturday: Read Acts 3:16-20 and 26:20 Paul connects repentance with the blotting out of our sins and to “performing deeds in keeping with repentance”. As you read through those two passages, let God’s word lead you to personal prayer and repentance.
