Romans (Part 23) - NO SEPARATION!

[Romans 8:35-39 ESV] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

[Romans 8:31 ESV] 31 … If God is for us, who can be against us?

[Romans 8:32 ESV] 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

[Romans 8:33 ESV] 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

[Romans 8:34 ESV] 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died–more than that, who was raised–who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

[Romans 8:35 ESV] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?…

[Romans 8:35 ESV] 35 … Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

[Romans 8:36 ESV] 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

[Psalm 44:17-22 ESV] 17 All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten you, and we have not been false to your covenant. 18 Our heart has not turned back, nor have our steps departed from your way; 19 yet you have broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with the shadow of death. 20 If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god, 21 would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart. 22 Yet for your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

[Romans 8:37 ESV] 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

[Romans 8:28-29 ESV] 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…

[Matthew 5:11-12 ESV] 11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

[Colossians 2:15 ESV] 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

[1 Corinthians 4:11-13 ESV]
… 11 To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, 12 and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; 13 when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things.

[2 Corinthians 11:23-28]
23 … countless beatings, and often near death. 24 Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; 26 on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; 27 in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. 28 And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.

[Romans 8:38-39 ESV] 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

[Hebrews 2:14-16 ESV] 14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

[Ephesians 6:12 ESV] 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

[John 1:1-3 ESV] 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

NO CREATED THING!

[Romans 8:39 ESV] 39 … will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

[1 John 4:8, 16 ESV] 8 … God is love. … 16 … God is love…

[1 John 4:9-10 ESV] 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

[Romans 5:8 ESV] 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John Piper - Look At The Book

[Romans 5:5 ESV] 5 … God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

[Romans 8:28-29 ESV] 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

[Romans 8:34 ESV] 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died–more than that, who was raised–who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

[Hebrews 7:25 ESV] 25 … he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

[Romans 8:35 ESV] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?…
[Romans 8:38-39 ESV] 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you are in Christ, there is NO SEPARATION from God’s love!
