Is God Enough for our nation?
Joshua 23
Joshua is nearing the end of his life and he is laying out a series of instructions to the nation of Israel of how to be a strong nation and it includes a sense of nationalism and a system of governance.
If God is to be enough for our Nation then we must realize…
God was never meant to be
John 18:36
36Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.”
God can not be
1 Cor. 12:12-13
12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. 13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles,[a] some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
God will not be
Joshua 23:12-13
12 “But if you turn away from him and cling to the customs of the survivors of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry with them, 13 then know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive them out of your land. Instead, they will be a snare and a trap to you, a whip for your backs and thorny brambles in your eyes, and you will vanish from this good land the Lord your God has given you.*
Through this series we have answered the question “Is God enough” and the naswer has been a resounding yes. It is because He is the one who holds all things together.
