Colossal = Massive, Immense, Of Exceptional Degree

IN THIS SERIES:
We want to give colossal focus to 4 areas:

Part 1 – The Supremacy of Jesus
Part 2 – Our Thinking
Part 3 – Our Living

Part 4 – Our Service

Main Idea:

A colossal life of service means devotion to prayer and dedication to discipleship.

We grow closer to Him and more aware of others.

Colossians 4:2-6
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful (Alert mind) and thankful (Thankful heart)…5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Vs. 7-18 - Paul’s Final Instructions and Greetings NIV

1. Devoted To Prayer

Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful (Alert mind) and thankful

Devote = give all or a large part of one’s time or resources to (a person, activity, or cause).

Watchful = Paying close attention to what you are praying and thinking about. Awake, alert and aware.

Thankful = Devote yourself to praying with thankfulness as your base.

Connection with God Looks Like:

Devoted to prayer. Watchful and alert in your mind. Thankful in your heart.

This is your new normal.

2. Dedicated To Discipleship

Colossians 4:5
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

Colossians 4:6
Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone NIV

Matthew 5:13-16
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. 14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. NLT
