Romans 5:1-6

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.”
Psalm 92:12-13 (NIV)

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.”
Romans 5:1-2 (NIV)

• GROWing where God plants you .

4 Elements of GROWing where God plants you:

1. the difficulties of life.

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;”
Romans 5:3 (NIV)

2. that God has given.

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Romans 5:3-4 (NIV)

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
Philippians 2:12-13 (NIV)

3. God has given to you.

“… Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep. 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.’ 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, ‘Follow me!’”
John 21:17b-19 (NIV)

“Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, ‘Lord, what about him?’”
John 21:20-21 (NIV)

4. for the hope of God to bring renewal.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.” Romans 5:5-6 (NIV)
