Becoming Someone Special🦸🏾‍♀️

What doesn’t make Mom special 🤰🏾

  • Physical strength
  • Superior intellect
  • Deep reservoir of wisdom
  • Beauty or fine figure
  • Title or position

What makes Mary truly special? 🤱🏾

  • God called her to be used by HIM?

Look at your situation when you were called, brothers and sisters! By ordinary human standards not many were wise, not many were powerful, not many were from the upper class. —1 Corinthians 1:26 (CEB)

  • She miraculously conceived?

  • She became mother of Jesus?

Someone said to him, “Look, your mother and brothers are outside wanting to speak with you.” Jesus replied, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” He stretched out his hand toward his disciples and said, “Look, here are my mother and my brothers. Whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven is my brother, sister, and mother.” —Matthew 12:47-50 (CEB)

None of these thing make Mary truly special

🏃🏾‍♀️Mary takes action to BECOME special!

    1. to the call

Those who watch and wait for favorable winds never plant, and those who watch and fret over every cloud never harvest. —Ecclesiastes 11:4 (VOICE)

    2. that only the presence of God can make you special

Then Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen since I haven’t had sexual relations with a man?” The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come over you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the one who is to be born will be holy. He will be called God’s Son. —Luke 1:34-35 (CEB)

…fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it—Romans 12:2 (MSG)

    3. your new identity from the Word of God and build your faith from the testimony of other Believers

Look, even in her old age, your relative Elizabeth has conceived a son. This woman who was labeled ‘unable to conceive’ is now six months pregnant. Nothing is impossible for God.” Then Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be with me just as you have said.” Then the angel left her. —Luke 1:36-38 (CEB)

When the angel came to her, he said, “Rejoice, favored one! The Lord is with you!”…The angel said, “Don’t be afraid, Mary. God is honoring you…Then Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be with me just as you have said.” —Luke 1:28, 30, 38 (CEB)

To overcome struggles and past failure…place your life in His hands

The confidence of my calling enables me to overcome every difficulty without shame, for I have an intimate revelation of this God. And my faith in him convinces me that he is more than able to keep all that I’ve placed in his hands safe and secure until the fullness of his appearing. —2 Timothy 1:12 (TPT)
