Sometimes troubles we witness in the world around us can cause us to forget, or even question, God’s love. Why do you think that is? Why does trouble in the world often cause people to question God’s love?
Sometimes the difficulties we experience personally cause us to forget, or question, God’s love for us specifically. Why do you think that is? Why do we often struggle to belive God loves us when we’re dealing with difficult circumstances?
Read John 3:16. God has chosen to display His love for us in the death and resurrection of Jesus, not in making life easier, more comfortable, more convenient, or painless. So, how does understanding this help us in being reminded of God’s love even as we experience hard times? How does this understanding of God’s lvoe help us walk confidently in the midst of difficulty?
Read Romans 12:1. God loved this world in such a way that He gave. And He gave in such a way that it cost Him. Jesus sacrificed His own life for us. Now, the challenge for us to consider is, what are we doing out of our love for God? John 3:16 tell us, “For God so loved the world that He…” we know the rest. But let’s flip it and put your name in there. “For ‘you’ so love God that ‘you’…” What are some ways you are currently expressing your love for God?
