FEARLESS Part 4 - Take Heart (Tharseo)

July 23, 2023

The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are

as a lion. —Proverbs 28:1

  • Nehemiah is an example of a believer that refused to be governed by fear and instead to be governed by the Holy Spirit.

“Should someone in my position run from danger? Should someone in my position enter the Temple to save his life? No, I won’t do it!” —Nehemiah 6:11

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But

, because I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33 NLT

  • Tharseo- To have

, to be courageous and confident, to be undaunted, filled with joy.

  • Undaunted - not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment.

  • Don’t just be free from fear…be filled with courage!

  • Being in Christ, and being a follower of Christ will not give you or me a free pass on facing difficulty. But it has everything to do with

    you face difficultly.

For a righteous man falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. —Proverbs 24:16

  • In Christ you have a God-given, Holy Spirit

, because the resurrection life of Jesus is in you!

  • Decision: Am I going to lose heart and give up, or take heart and rise up?

  • Tharseo is a

a command that Jesus gives, and a choice that we make.

So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, —Luke 24:33

  • Rose up – “To raise up from laying down; to raise up from the dead.”
