Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. (John 6:3-6, ESV)

How I act under is who I really .
Jesus will test me for sake.

Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.” One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” (John 6:7-9)

best doesn’t give God glory.
best does.

Jesus then took the loaves and fish, said a blessing and broke them, and gave the people as much as they wanted. (John 6:11 + Mark 6:37)

1) Jesus Took It.

2) Jesus Blessed It.

3) Jesus Broke It.

There’s a big difference between

fish and two fish.

greatest lesson you will learn in your life.

Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (John 6:28-29)

BIBLE STUDY QUESTIONS

LIFE GROUP LEADERS: TAKE ATTENDANCE!!
(Use the Church Center App)

1) Share with your Life Group your favorite place to eat in HB or surrounding cities.

2) Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, what blessed you the most? How were you spiritually challenged and encouraged?

3) Read 2 Kings 4:1-7.

4) How much value did the widow place on what she had (2 Kings 4:2)?

5) Why do you think God chose to have the widow participate in her own provision?
Why was it important for her children and neighbors to play a part as well?

6) Perhaps you are facing a difficult situation, and you struggle to believe that God can work things out. If so, what small—or large—step can you take toward trusting God, and His perfect, sovereign will? What Do You Have? Write down what you have — however small — that God might use to help you through current or future hard times. (Possessions, skills, talents, resources, etc.)

7) How has God provided for your needs, and how have you responded to Him?

8) Perhaps God has blessed you in areas that you can use to help others. Prayerfully consider your list of possessions, skills, and talents that can be used to help others.

9) Sometimes God provides miraculously. Other times, we need to ask for help and “borrow jars,” in effect, from other people. God often meets needs through the church. Yet some people find it difficult to ask for help. In which area(s) might you need to admit your need for help, place your faith and trust in God, and seek — and follow — godly, Bible-based counsel from spiritual mentors in your life?

10) 2 Kings 4:1 reveals that the widow “cried out to Elisha,” the prophet of God. And God, through Elisha, responded to her desperate need. God always responds when His people cry out to Him for help. (Deuteronomy 26:6-9; Judges 15:18-19; 1 Kings 17:19-22; 2 Chronicles 32:20-23; Mark 10:46-52; Luke 17:11-14)
“Cry out” to God for one another.
