One of our common themes over the past few weeks has been:
Treating people right is critical to following Jesus.

The Blame Pie…

With enough honest reflection, there is always a slice of the blame pie for us…

But we often try to take the smallest slice possible…

3 excuses we like to use:
1. I just don’t care anymore…
2. I already tried!
3. It’s not my fault!

I will get back to, not get back at.

Reassembly always begins with us, regardless of who initiated the fuss.

Sometimes,

depends more on than we are willing to admit.

3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? —Matthew 7:3-4 NIV

Do you really think you have such clarity on this that you have the ability to say “Allow me to fix you.”?

You hypocrite, … —Matthew 7:5 NIV

hypocrite:
Someone that is more interested or more preoccupiedwith fixing other people than fixing themselves.

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, —Matthew 7:5 NIV

Before we get to

, we have to start with .

Pray: “Heavenly Father, please show me where I was at fault.”

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. —Matthew 7:5 NIV

and the in eye prepares me to move you.

This is HARD to do, because…
Admitting we’re

doesn’t reconciliation.

BUT, that’s NOT the goal…

The goal is

.

I will own my slice of the blame pie.

We may find that we needed to serve ourselves a much larger portion of the blame pie.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. —Romans 12:18 NIV
